I am the shoreline, you are the breaker

It took me thirty-five years, but I now realize that I was born with one true gift: eidetic memory for a terrible/amazing 1981 song by The Sherbs. Maybe “The Skill” was on MTV once when I was a kid. It has been playing in my head every day since.

Check out how the lead singer gets a bar band, Huey Lewis-like growl. Check out how the song is light and poppy à la Hall and Oats. Now put that all together and pump it into my head where it can’t escape. Mission: accomplished.

Woah. Sorry man, I couldn’t make it past the chorus. That is really bad. I am sorry that happened to you as a child.

Don’t ever do that again. Actually sounded more like The Eagles, but that could’ve been the mescaline.
