After work, my birthday was a little:

But it also was a little me, on three drinks, which I normally never do before 7, stumbling into the often talked about but never been to Benihana (since I would only go there if Scott were to dine with me)…and seeing everyone I knew holding porcelain cats filled with booze (as I recall it).

I think I set off the fire alarm when I screamed with glee. And then I cooked on the grill for all my friends and threw hot shrimp tails into my eyes (as I recall it).

N: Thanks for orchestrating the transformation of grumpy Ross into fun/flushed with booze Ross. Everyone who was there: you made it mind-blowingly epic and you will be mentioned by name when I tell my children about the time I turned 34…including the golden, perfect moment when we were ending our dining experience and a bottle of fine, gentleman’s bourbon was presented by my friend A. We all shared a swig, and time slowed down and everything was amazingly wonderful and 34 seemed like the most magnificent age I have yet to try.
