Library Day

This is an entry about Books with no comments

library day

For some odd reason I have been buying my books for the last few years and not renting them. All that changed when I had the idea of revisiting the large building down the road from us that offers the free lending of books I might want to read. It also smells like BO.

Also, the Berkeley Public Library has undergone a spectacular renovation and I had not been inside the newly remodeled space since it reopened a few years ago. I was delighted to see N., who has had trouble with illiteracy in the past, get her first library card. As for myself: I can check out as many books about Bruce Lee as I want.

I’m not a widely traveled library aficionado, but I know which libraries I have loved over the years. Do you have a second while I briefly list them for you?

  • the old library in Barrington, RI: all very musty and old and creepy, located next to a cemetary. It had spiral staircases: a very big plus in a library.
  • everyone’s favorite: the NYU library from my freshman year in NY. I even found a little vial of coke in one of the stacks.

I’m sorry that wasn’t a very good list.
